THE CLIENT

Jack Henry & Associates is an S&P 500 financial technology company serving more than 7,500 community banks, credit unions, and financial organizations across the United States. Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Monett, Missouri, it provides digital banking services, payment solutions, data and hosting, fraud prevention, and enterprise financial management to institutions that depend on its infrastructure for their daily operations.

The contact center environment at the time of engagement was a critical operational layer: it handled the support interactions of institutions whose own customers relied on Jack Henry's platform stability.

THE CHALLENGE

Jack Henry's contact center had been built on an on-premise legacy system that was no longer adequate for the demands being placed on it. Maintaining the infrastructure was costly and resource-intensive, diverting budget and IT capacity from growth initiatives.

The IVR system could only handle basic interactions, driving call abandonment and failing to support the self-service expectations of modern users. The system could not scale to accommodate volume spikes; a serious liability for a company serving financial institutions during reporting periods and market events.

The legacy architecture presented compliance challenges against financial sector mandates including PCI DSS and SOC2, creating regulatory exposure that could not be managed through the existing platform.

WHAT WE BUILT

Primero Group designed a cloud migration strategy built around NiCE CXone, selected for its omnichannel support, real-time analytics, AI-driven self-service capability, and native compliance with PCI DSS, SOC2, and TCPA standards.

The central technical challenge was integration: Jack Henry's existing infrastructure ran on Symitar's SymXchange SOAP services, and connecting these to NiCE CXone required a custom proxy component — a lightweight middleware layer that enabled secure, real-time data exchange between the cloud platform and the legacy core processing system.

This reduced technical debt, preserved operational continuity, and gave Jack Henry the flexibility to extend integrations without disrupting live services. The migration was phased: pilot testing identified integration issues before full deployment, comprehensive training prepared contact center agents, and post-deployment monitoring allowed continuous optimization. The result was a cloud environment with AI-assisted self-service, predictive routing, and real-time performance analytics — capabilities the legacy system could not approach.

WHAT THIS SHOWS

Jack Henry & Associates is one of the most technically demanding environments in which Primero Group has delivered contact center transformation. An S&P 500 financial technology company serving 7,500 institutions cannot tolerate service disruption, compliance gaps, or a migration that trades long-term capability for short-term stability.

The custom Symitar integration is the technical indicator that matters here: it required us to build bespoke middleware to bridge two architecturally incompatible systems without disrupting live operations. That is the kind of engineering challenge that differentiates our CX application capability from firms that implement platforms as they come.
